AMUZED is an online Virtual Music Manager Game. Just like fantasy sports games, it is based on digital collectible cards used in weekly tournaments. Only this time, it’s not about managing a sports team but a virtual label of hip-hop artists.

These cards are available within booster packs, and I was asked to design limited editions.

The original ones displayed the different categories of cards and tournaments: glass, gold, platinum, and diamond.

Festival Edition

When you got a Festival Edition booster pack, you were entered to win tickets to summer music festivals.

I replaced the original pack's angular shapes with more rounded, organic ones to evoke the natural setting of a festival site. The color palette recalls a sunset at a festival, as you groove to your favorite artists' music.

Artist Edition

The Artist Edition Booster Packs grant users entry to specific tournaments and the chance to win prizes like t-shirts and signed copies of albums.

Most times, like Hanna Noir, I used the artist's logo and branding for the design.

Sometimes, like Lybro, I would use the backstory of the artist to illustrate the pack.

Lybro identifies himself as Le Saiyan, a warrior race featured in the Dragon Ball Z series. I decided to incorporate thunderbolts as a nod to the anime aesthetics.

Special Partnership

Partnering with the HipHop Open Festival provided an opportunity to explore old-school hip-hop visuals. Incorporating the festival's color palette, I added spray paint drips and elements inspired by street art.
